About us
The elementary school of the German School of Riga is part of our overall comprehensive pedagogical concept, which already begins with the entry into our kindergarten and the pre-school. The motto “learning from the beginning“ accompanies our students safely through all phases of their childhood. Of paramount importance is individualized age-adapted development, the motivation to learn, as well as high-quality educational content.
We provide your child an environment conducive to optimal learning through:
o small classes (no larger than 18 students)
o team work and intercultural cohesion.
o excellence in linguistic competence
o individualized development plans if necessary
o extensive offer of extracurricular activities
o creative learning through the use of diverse teaching methods
o comprehensive development of the child’s personality
When German becomes a second native language
The elementary school is designed to offer a solid educational foundation, so German can grow into becoming the student’s second native language. We grow this compentence last but not least through:
o events to experience German culture “live” such as the St. Martin’s procession, secular exposure to German Christmas and Easter traditions, carnival, and many others.
o supervised study hall for homework
o possibility of language courses for parents
o cooperation with partners such as the Goethe institut
